A decision for the class
Compare majority voting, reasoning and the protection of minorities.

01
Take a closer look
A shared decision requires understandable information and a chance for everyone to contribute. A vote settles a question but does not replace every discussion. Minority rights still matter.
02
Now try it
- Collect three ideas for a fictional class activity and give one advantage and one drawback for each.
- Agree on a voting procedure. Explain how the interests of the group that loses the vote could still be considered.
03
Think it through
Is a majority decision automatically fair to everyone?
See a suggested answer
Not necessarily. The procedure, participation and protection of legitimate interests also need consideration.
